» THE WORKSHOP

Medical Emergency WorkshopThis this was the fifth in the monthly series of  Community Fire and Health Safety Workshops offered by Pend Oreille County Fire District No. 3.

At this workshop participants learned what to do in case of a medical emergency.  The instructor, Fire District No. 3 Chief Mark Havener, provided information about the response residents could expect from the fire department and other emergency services agencies when when they called 911 based on the type of medical emergency, patient location, and property accessibility.  In addition they learned about family emergency preparedness, accident prevention, when and how to make a 911 call, and what they should do until help arrives.

Workshop activities included an interactive presentation, question and answer sessions, demonstrations, and handouts.  All workshop participants were invited to fill out a Workshop Evaluation form at the end of the presentation.

Refreshments were provided by Doris Egland the wife of Firefighter Harry Egland.
